Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering). The successful candidate is expected to teach the following main courses:

American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK), Department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, invites applications for an adjunct faculty position beginning Fall 2024 (August). Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering). The successful candidate is expected to teach the following main courses:

 Geotechnical Engineering
 Foundation Engineering

In addition, the faculty member is expected to teach Statics and Surveying (second year courses) and therefore, the ability to teach these courses is also required.

Required Qualifications:

• Ph. D in the area of Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering) from an accredited institution of higher education
• Strong record of active engagement in research and scholarship, including recent publications
• University teaching experience
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills
• Commitment to excellence in teaching, including the use of high-impact educational practices
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines
• Familiarity with ABET accreditation requirements
