1. Civil Engineer

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah invites applications for the position of Civil Engineer. The Civil Engineer will coordinate with the campus development team to oversee all the university’s construction projects for both new and existing buildings, which require renovation, alteration and/or fit out works. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical installations is required. Ability to coordinate between the different stakeholders concerning projects’ delivery. Applicant must have strong knowledge of Authorities requirements and accordingly must have the ability to generate project drawings, Bill of quantities and material specifications. Additionally, the Civil Engineer shall review and approve invoices and financial matters related to construction and fit out works.

2. Director of Strategy and Institutional Research

The Director of Strategy and Institutional Research (DSIR) is an adviser to the President on strategy, organizational effectiveness and accreditation. The DSIR manages the implementation of AURAK’s strategic plan by ensuring alignment between unit plans and AURAK’s overarching strategy.  The DSIR also develops and implements AURAK’s quality assurance and institutional effectiveness system as well as managing institutional licensure projects and leading on national and international accreditation efforts. Finally, the post-holder administratively oversees the staff assigned to the Office for Institutional Strategy and Excellence and ensures that the AURAK’s leadership has information that informs positive decision making and organizational improvements within the institution.

3. Assistant/Associate Professor Position in Artificial Intelligence

American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK), Department of Computer Science and Engineering, invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate professor position beginning Spring 2025 (starting December 2024). Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence or a related computing major. The successful candidate should have the credentials to teach the following undergraduate courses Advanced Programming, Machine Learning, Deep learning, Big Data, and Data Analytics.  All classes and other campus activities are conducted only in English.

4. Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Success (Provost)

Job Summary The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (UAE) seeks an experienced, academic leader to serve as Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Success (Provost). The Provost provides leadership to the university and supports the fulfillment of its mission through the development, management, and implementation of quality academic and student success programs and services. The position reports to the President of the university. The Provost heads a number of committees and is a member of the President’s Cabinet.

5. Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering – Robotics and Embedded Systems

American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK), Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position beginning Spring 2025. Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering - Robotics and Embedded Systems, and preferably with additional expertise in Machine Learning, AI, and IoT.

6. Early Warning/Academic Advisement Officer (UAE National Only)

This position has as its focus supporting the retention of at-risk students (students on academic warning, probation 1 and probation 2) at AURAK. The Early Warning/Academic Advisement (EWAA) Officer functions with the mind-set of a “social-worker” by reaching out to students and conducting regular follow-up to engage at-risk students through support and encouragement to help them remain connected to their academic pursuits at the university. The EWAA Officer also supports keeping students connected to UPAS 100, an academic study skills course, required of students who are on Academic Warning. The position works in a cross-functional manner with administrative support for initiatives of the Office of Student Affairs. The work environment is student-centered, solution-oriented and constantly evolving, with high expectations for accuracy and follow-through with assigned tasks.
