Job Summary: The Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Ras al Khaimah (AURAK) seeks to hire two part-time, adjunct faculty member to teach Mathematics for the AY 2020-2021. Successful candidates will be appointed to Instructor or Assistant Professor rank, depending on their last acquired degree. Prior successful teaching experience at the university level employing high-impact educational practices to promote active learning by students and experience in working effectively with globally diverse student populations are expected.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Part-time, adjunct faculty can teach a maximum of two (2) courses per semester. Ideal candidates will have experience with, and interest in, teaching classes to undergraduates who find the study of Mathematics challenging. Instruction will include teaching one or more introductory level courses, along with preparatory courses.
Qualifications: A minimum of a Master of Science in Mathematics from an accredited university is required. Prior successful teaching experience is expected. Medium of instruction at AURAK is English; hence, excellent oral and written communication skills in English are also required. An ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines would be an asset.
