Job Purpose
The Vice President of Operational Excellence and Financial Management is the Chief Operating Officer at AURAK. He/she is also a chief adviser to the President on financial affairs. The VP leads the implementation of aspects of AURAK’s strategic plan focused on financial management, human asset management, health, safety and environment and efficiency in physical plant infrastructure and support services. The post-holder administratively oversees the staff assigned to the Office of Vice President and provides leadership to the Offices of Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Procurement & Auxiliary Services and Facilities Management.

Minimum Qualification and Education
Master’s degree in business administration, finance, project management, quality management or related field
Professional accounting qualification such as CPA (K), ACCA and membership in a relevant recognized professional body

Required Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of: Board governance; budget planning; financial management; internal auditing; health/safety management; human resource management; information technology management; procurement processes; change management; project management.
Planning, prioritizing, organizing, scheduling, event logistics, time management, flexibility, multitasking, communication, advocacy, negotiation, monitoring, analytical, evaluation, technologically savvy with MS Office skills

Work Experience 
At least 15 years’ work experience in educational or administrative operations with some experience in Westernized and Middle Eastern settings; 
7-10 years progressive experience in a senior administrative leadership/management role in a medium to large sized public or private higher education institution, government or corporate setting;
5-7 years’ expertise in financial management, planning, administrative operational management and, if possible in an UAE licensed or accredited institution;  

Language proficiency required
UAE National an advantage
Native Language Fluency in English 
Advanced proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English required;
Advanced proficiency in speaking, reading and writing Arabic is an asset
