ADJUNCT FACULTY OPENINGS
The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) is an independent, public, state-owned, non-profit, coeducational institution in the United Arab Emirates that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees.
AURAK provides comprehensive academic programs based on the North American model and the cultural characteristics of the Gulf region. AURAK has been officially licensed by the UAE’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR). All of the University’s 22 academic programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA). In addition, AURAK has recently achieved accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). All instruction at the university is in English.
The School of Business offers five undergraduate programs (BS in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Finance, Accounting, and Marketing), and two graduate programs (MBA and Executive MBA).
The school has been granted eligibility to pursue accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and has begun its journey to initial accreditation.
We invite applications to join the pool of adjunct faculty from Fall 2019.
We are particularly interested in adjunct faculty qualified to teach courses in following areas:
Management Information Systems
The faculty member appointed to these positions will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses as required.
A maximum of two courses can be offered by AURAK adjunct faculty each semester.
In addition to demonstrating the potential for teaching excellence, the faculty hired to these positions must have a research record that supports being classified as a “scholarly academic” under the AACSB accreditation standards.
If applicants are employed by another educational institution, they will require a ‘No Objection Letter’ (NOL) from this institution.
Adjunct faculty are expected to complete the course documentation required by All AURAK but are not expected to engage in service to the university.
Qualifications and requirements:
(1) An earned doctorate in the teaching discipline from an accredited university Faculty teaching courses in graduate degree programs have a terminal degree in the teaching discipline, and either a strong record of research and scholarly activity or significant professional experience as a practitioner in an applied discipline.
(2) A record of established research consistent with being appointed at rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor;
(3) A history of successful university teaching experience in the specialization
