Faculty Position in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering)
The American University of Ras Al Khaimah

The Civil and Infrastructure Engineering Department at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah is seeking to fill a faculty position for Fall Semester 2019, beginning in early August, at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The successful candidate for this position must have a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in the area of Structural Engineering. The primary responsibility of the faculty position is to teach undergraduate courses at AURAK.  All classes and other campus activities are conducted only in English. The successful candidate will be active in research in his/her fields of interests, incorporate high-impact educational practices in his/her teaching, advise undergraduate students, and provide service to the department, university, and community.  

Extent of experience with ABET accreditation requirements must be indicated in the cover letter. Applicants must also indicate in the cover letter whether they would like to be considered for a full-time continuing position or a full-time visiting position.

· Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering specialization) from an accredited institution of higher education
· Effective communication skills
· Commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship
· University teaching experience
· Interest and experience working effectively with a diverse student population
· Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines
